So, it was sunrise. Artair was arriving at the courtyard, as he was told to do by Blair. He was going to have a test of skills, or something of the short, to see ‘if he was fit to be a guard’. This sounded… wonderful. He was bound to be beaten to a pulp and then thrown out of the guard. And then, his uncle would beat him further. He was toast. Dead toast. A doomed cow (dead meat). He looked around, searching for Blair through the dim morning light. Hopefully she wasn’t there, and he could just blow it off and leave.

Tay materialized and stepped up behind Artair. "Dude! Do you know how hard it is to shadow meld at dawn or dusk?" She asked disapprovingly, brushing some materia of her shoulder.

Artair jumped about a foot and fell over, not being able to stick his landing due to his armor. “Buah! Where the heck did you come from?!” he questioned harshly, scrambling to his feet.

"You're shadow." Tay replied teasingly.

"Hah, nice try," Artair snickered, "I'm not superstitious, or afraid of 'dark magic'. You can't scare me with your cheap stuff."

"Dark magic? Coming out of shadows? You two seem friendly," Blair said with a big smile. With her bad timing she walked in on the midle of the conversation. She had two staffs with her and passed one to Artair. "We'll use these to practice."

Artair turned quickly and caught the staff just before it hit him in the face. “Uh, um, what?” he questioned nervously, not quite sure of what was about to happen. Was she going to beat him to a pulp with a staff while he tried to defend himself… with a staff?

"You know, spar a little." Blair ignored his nervousness. "Alright get into posistion." She spread her feet and bent her knees ever so slightly. "Come at me with all you got."

Artair did as told, doing as Blair did, but only staying in the position for a few seconds before charging at her and swiping at her with a downward arch of the staff. It was a very amateur move, and barely counted as a ‘move’ because of its lack of technique.

Blair easily block with her staff and took a step back. "Try an attack thats not very common. You want to surprise your enemy," she commented.

Tay manipulated Artard's shadow, so that it kicked Blair's shadow. "Be sneaky!" She advised from the sidelines, still enjoying her shadow match.

Artair stood there for a moment, swaying rhythmically in a battle stance, nervously trying to figure out what to do. He was too distracted to notice the match going on between his and Blair’s shadow. He jump-dashed at Blair all of a sudden, this time trying to swipe from the side with the same sort of arch as before—easily blocked, easily counterattacked, and hard to control.

His shadow however, faired much better. Right now, it was blade locked with Blair's, bearing down on her. Using this advantage he- Wait, the tides were turning...Oh! An amazing kick delivered right between his legs. Such force. The Artair shadow toppled over, and Blair stabbed him. Repeatedly. And the cut his head off. "Whoa, dude. You're way out matched." Tay said sympathetically.

Once again Blair easily block it, not even trying to send an attack back. "I'm the enemy. I killed your father and have terrized the city. Show some anger," she made up a story. Perhaps it would get him to try harder. "If you don't stop me here and now then the whole town will crumble! Your sword is a really long arm. Punch the day light out of me!"

Artair's head reattached itself. "Ho mah gawd!" Tay gasped, as he swung for Blair, missing her by scant inches. He drove her back until she stumbled, whipping his blade down. He sliced her knees open and black blood shot out everywhere. As she fell to the ground, defeated, she pulled out a dagger and buried it into his foot. Not that it did much good, as his blade found it's way into her neck. "Shouldn't of said that dude." She sighed as Blair's shadow twitched.
