Squal laid on a grassy rolling hill in the plains and stared at the the sky. He inhaled some of the breezy air and gave a sigh of relaxation. As he laid on the grass he wondered how his father was going, surly he wouldn't let Archadia fall easily.

Enjoying her break, Blair was taking leasurly stroll through the plains when she tripped on something, or someone. She hadn't been paying much attention, humming a weird melody, and wasn't watching were she was walking. Thus Blair didn't see the man lying on the ground and fell. "Ugh, I must have run into a bolder or something," she grunted.

"Actually, you didn't..." Squal groaned as the slight pain over took the side of his body. He sat up and looked to the girl "I was at fault, I didn't think anyone would be out here." he apologized.

Blair scrambled off the prince and sat down next to him, hands in her lap and looking very embarrassed. She mumbled a sorry and scratched the back of her neck. “It was my fault. I wasn’t paying much attention to where I was going,” she corrected. When she wasn’t on duty she tended to zone out.

"Then we are both at fault." Squal replied "Me for not being noticeable and you for not paying attention." he looked at the guard and said "Im Squal, you madam?"

"Blair Averill. Nice to meet you Squal," she stuck out a hand for him to shake. Blair had no idea that this man was a prince.

Blair jabbed her thumb at her chest and gave a smug smile. "Head of the guards at your service! I speak directly with the king. Pretty cool huh?" she bragged. She had every right to be proud too. "You here for the school? We get pretty strange people coming here to learn to be knights and mages." Crossing her arms she made a disgusted look, "Kids these days get into alot of trouble. Fighting over whos better; knight or mage. And I'm the one protecting the brats."

"Sounds like a tough job." Squal smiled "But Im here until marriage, not school. My father cant rule our homeland forever, and the only way for me to succeed him is to marry."

"Well thats good," Blair let out a sigh of relief. "I'm not sure how its works here. I've only talked to the king about military stuff." She leaned back, resting on the palms of her hands. "Do you get to talk to your dad a lot? Or is almost impossible to speak with him?"

"I get to talk to father sometimes. He usually managing the deffence of our border so I usually talk to the palace servants, mother, and uncle High Priest." Squal explained. he did the same as Blair and noticed her eyes "Thats... very unusual to have different color eyes." he commented.

Blair shifted her gaze to the side. She knew her eye color was strange andit made her feel awkward when people talked about it. "I know, but I can't change it."

"I actually think it looks good. It gives you a unique character." Squal smiled at Blair. Even though he never, ever, ever in his life had seen something like it he like the way the colors blended with her face.
